The Foggy Future

The once busy markets are now deserted,
The fun-filled parks are now abandoned.

The chit-chat of kids in the classrooms,
Greeting teachers in the corridors have subsided.

The friendly eyes of neighbours now shy away,
The joyful family celebrations are now silent.

The smiles are now hidden behind the masks,

The loving hugs are maintaining social distancing,
                          The warm handshakes are restrained.

                          The future is foggy.
What lies ahead, can you see?
                          It may not be tomorrow,
It may not be next week,
It may not even look like,
                          The future that you seek.
