Covid Dairy
Who thought that wearing a mask, using a sanitizer, staying away from
people, studying online will be something very normal? Absolutely no
one. Well the Covid-19 proved that the future is always unexpected. All
this isn’t even ‘new’ anymore. It feels that doing all this is very normal
and I’m doing this for years. A virus, an invisible virus ,has changed our
perspective of seeing the world and I am fine with most of the things that
are a part of the new normal.
What I don’t like is wearing a mask and staying at home. It’s frustrating.
What I miss is going to malls, restaurants and on vacations. Till 2019,
I could have eaten anything with my dirty hands, but now I can’t even
think of touching anything before washing my hands. Looking at people
without a mask makes one feel as if the virus is walking towards you.
The respect for medical workers has increased by leaps and bounds.
The new normal has also made us realize that OTT platforms are a
lot better and affordable than going to cinema halls. Okay, how can I
forget this? The new normal has made us self-reliant; it has taught us
to cook, to clean our homes and to drive ourselves instead of taking
a public transport. But to be honest, some things have started to be
what they were till last year. Some offices and schools have opened,
public transport and shopping malls are back in business, and even
sports activities are back. So now what do I think? I can be called
biased but I want everything back to normal except the opening of
schools, colleges and offices. In the end, we can just hope for things
to improve.
