The Spark Of Hope

The sky was full of laughter
There were soft whispers here and there,
No one knew what followed after

A disaster just spread in the air.

                         Wuhan was the first one
                         to face the COVID terror,
From one it spread to a ton
The whole world shook with horror.

                         It spread in a flash
                         to the other countries,
Life came down with a crash
                         The streets became empty.

                         As the lockdown began
                         Everyone was trapped behind doors,
Not knowing what best we can
do for all while staying indoors.

But the lockdown has taught us, as one remembers
about a world outside our hectic life
Spending time with our family members,
                         as COVID began to rife.

Yes it is still out there, set on a ride
                         Lurking predators in the wild,

                         So be vigilant and aware
Masks, sanitization and distancing, are some of the cares.

I salute the doctors and the nurses
For being with the patients always,
Even when not able to return home
You struggled not to let the virus roam.

                         Even in the darkest times
There is a spark of hope
that the COVID vaccine will help us cope
And the reign of the virus will fade for a lifetime.
