Transformation
The Transformation
Stuck in quarantine,
With no place to serpentine.
Our spirits are leashed,
Our existence drifts among all those familiar walls.
Have we accepted this absurdity as the new normal?
For those who flourished from the bells of giggles and commotion,
Now feel trapped, surrounded by resilience.
Hesitantly and unexpectedly,
We have signed up for a new quarantine routine,
Which is a simple form of waking up, brushing our teeth, working, eating, and
sleeping.
This obscure routine envelops not only Covid-19,
But also human torture and racial injustice,
As well as social and political divisions more than ever before.
We can’t help but wonder –
When will all of this end? ’
We continue to navigate through these uninvited times,
And scuffle with these uncertainties.
But we must bear in mind to find ourselves amongst the chaos.
Despite the never-ending isolation, the turmoil, and the division,
No one is alone.
It’s time for us to work on ourselves,
Continue to explore and spread love,
Help the needy,
Be kind to one another,
And try to free ourselves from negativity.
